Water heater failures and leaks necessitate immediate action.
First, shut off the water supply. Next, try to find the source of the leak. A common leak source is the drain valve on the bottom of the unit. Sometimes the pressure relief valve on the top of the heater releases excessive steam. Sometimes a leak is due to a corroded tank, which calls for complete replacement.
If it is impossible to determine the source of the leak be sure to shut off the power or the gas source, and contact our plumbing specialists.
